Pinewood Center Gravity Mass StandThis balancing point (COG) will differ from car to car due to design, type of weight, type of wood, etc. Knowing at what point your center of gravity will help you determine how aggressive your steer will need. It will also need to be adjusted according to what type of track you are racing on. Center of Gravity Mass matters if you want the best setup. With a completely assembled car, start balancing with the rear of the car hovering over the numbers. Once you balance it, look down at the witness marks and locate where your rear axles are. This will tell you your COG. Plus it doubles to help you install wheels without messing the other side.
Derby Worx Pro Axle Bender which is the absolute best tool for bending Pinewood Derby axles. You can now easily get a precise bend every time. No need for a hammer… just place the axle in the Pro Axle Bender and easily bend it with your fingers. Axle bending allows rear wheels to run canted, and/or the front dominant axle to be aligned for rail riding or straight alignment. Accurate alignment is a major factor to producing a fast pinewood derby car. The Pro Axle Bender is a fully adjustable Pinewood Derby Car Axle Bender designed to give builders a wider range of bend angles. By simply adjusting the stop collar with a 3/32" hex wrench, bend angles of 0.5 to 10 degrees can be achieved for a wide range of tuning options.
This is a must if you have to install axles in slots. Don't waste your time trying any other tricks. Plain and simple it's worth the costs to save the headace! This is by far the best possible tool for this purpose. We use it on EVERY build.
Body Block preparation is the foundation of a FAST Pinewood Derby Car and the Pro-Body Tool 2 is designed to accurately straighten existing axle slots or create new axle mounting holes. The Pro-Axle Press will improve the speed of your pinewood derby car by performing three critical procedures on nail type axles: 1. Axle Straightening - Ensures accurate wheel tracking by creating absolutely straight axles. Improved wheel tracking equals greater speed! 2. Axle Rounding - Ensures accurate wheel rotation by creating absolutely round axle shafts. Improved wheel rotation equals greater speed! 3. Head Squaring - Ensures proper wheel rotation by squaring the axle head to the axle shaft. Improved wheel rotation equals greater speed!
The Pro Body Slotter is the first tool of it’s kind for Pinewood Derby™ racing. It’s unique design allows new/accurate slots to be cut in the body block to help meet the demand of the often required “Axles in the Slot” rule. New slots can be cut to replace improperly cut factory slots, re-locate the wheel base for increased speed or custom design requirements or even by add slots to both sides of the block, the block can be cut in half to make a second car. When paired with a “Pro Axle Guide” perfect axle installation and wheel spacing are a snap in the newly cut slots giving a highly accurate “Axle in Slot” assembly for maximum performance. *** saw and 2x 24 teeth per inch blades required ***
(A Pro Axle Press is required.) The Pro Rail Rider Tool ™ is the first tool designed to assist the builder in accurately setting up the alignment of a Pinewood Derby car using the Rail-Rider™ method. This method makes for a straight, fast, easy to align car even without a test track.
